The Boob Bus
This mobile unit will travel throughout underserved communities in the Chicagoland area, providing essential breast health services, including genetic counseling, information distribution, transformative fittings, consultations, wig fittings, and bra fittings. With this initiative, we’re ensuring that all women. Regardless of location or socioeconomic background—have access to critical support and resources.
Women Wellness Exams
A well-woman exam, which is a crucial component of preventive healthcare, typically costs around $150 when paid out-of-pocket, but this price can increase significantly if additional tests, exams, or services are required.
What's Included
A standard well-woman exam generally encompasses the following key components:
- Measurement of Height and Weight: This helps assess overall health and body mass index (BMI).
- Blood Pressure Check: Monitoring blood pressure is essential for identifying potential health issues early.
- Breast Exam: A thorough examination to detect any abnormalities or changes in breast tissue.
- Pelvic Exam: An important evaluation for reproductive health, allowing for the assessment of the vagina, cervix, and ovaries.
Additional Cost
While the base cost of a well-woman exam is approximately $150, there are additional factors that can affect the overall price:
- Tests and Procedures: If the physician recommends further tests, such as blood work, ultrasounds, or other diagnostic procedures, the cost can rise significantly.
- Pelvic Exam with Pap Smear: The price for a pelvic exam that includes a Pap smear may vary based on the healthcare facility's location and pricing structure. This test is essential for screening cervical cancer and may be billed separately.
